USD 380 Mathematics Curriculum

Scope and Sequence

                       

College Calculus Standards

 

Standard 1  Number and Computation

 

Indicators:  The student

CC 1.1

identifies and understands sets of the complex number system.

CC 1.2

performs basic operations of complex number systems and functions.

CC 1.3

uses and understands the distance formula, finds center and radius of a circle.

CC 1.4

uses and understands sigma notation to find the sum or a series.

 

Standard 2 Algebra

CC 2.1

solves and understands absolute value, linear equations, quadratic equations, and functions.

CC 2.2

evaluates limits.

CC 2.3

computes the derivatives using techniques of differentiation, knows the product, quotient and chain rules.

CC 2.4

uses and understands implicit differentiation.

CC 2.5

solves related rates problems, acceleration problems and maximum and minimum problems using derivatives and

integration.

CC 2.6

computes the definite and indefinite integral, and integrate by parts.

 

Standard 3 Geometry

CC 3.1

graphs functions, trigonometry functions and inverse functions on the coordinate plane.

CC 3.2

computes limits by evaluating graphs.

CC 3.3

graphs functions by parts.

CC 3.4

analyzes a graph for continuity, intervals of increase and decrease, changes in concavity.

CC 3.5

identifies critical points and inflection points on a graph.

CC 3.6

graphs polynomials and rational functions using calculus.

CC 3.7

finds area between two curves, volumes by slicing and using cylindrical shells.

CC 3.8

finds the length of a plane curve and  the area of the surface of revolution.

 

Standard 4 Data

CC 4.1

analyzes and interprets data and solves real world problems using calculus.
